SUMMARY:Cornerstone Employee Campaign
DESCRIPTION:Our Essentia Health employee Cornerstone Campaign will run May 2026 \n\nHistory:  The Cornerstone Fund was developed in 2014 in response to the desire for there to be employee-funded and determined projects and enhancements throughout the Deer River and Grand Rapids facilities.  The name “Cornerstone” was derived from the first cornerstone laid in the original hospital building project in 1958; a project that was community-led and defines the heart and power of determination in Deer River and surrounding areas. \n\nPrevious projects/funded items have been:\n\nIV Start Chair for Radiology\nVein Finder for Lakewood Surgery\nMicroscope for Lab\nBlanket warmer for Radiology\nBenches along outdoor walkways\nHospitality cart in the hospital\nDigital clocks for ED\nThe Gazebo and patio outside Comstock Court Apartments\nThe facelift to Homestead\, including painted walls\, furniture\, and décor in the sitting room and front porch area\nThe Emergency Dept waiting room updates\nBladder scanner\nPharmacy mixing hood\nOver the bed hospital tables\nDoppler monitors\nThe handicap door openers on the public restrooms near the main entrance\nElectronic piano for HRLC residents\nBilirubin meter\nRehab dept waiting room chairs\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is it?  This fund is EMPLOYEE-LED\, EMPLOYEE-RUN\, and EMPLOYEE-FUNDED with the Foundation simply acting as the fiscal agent of the funds and assisting with campaigning\, promotion and project execution.\n\n\nHow does it work?   A campaign is held to solicit project ideas from employees that can enhance the patient experience or improve the delivery of care. Then\, Cornerstone donors select the project(s) and/or item(s)  from those submissions to be funded.  This campaign also works to offer employees the opportunity to give to the fund through a one-time donation\, or payroll deduction in $1 increments.  The Forward Health Foundation assists with holding these funds\, managing the tax-deductible receipts\, and assisting with project execution.  This year\, Forward Health Foundation will match funding for all new pledges!\n\n\nWhen does this take place?
