Any form of post-secondary education can be challenging, and it can be extra challenging to return to school as a non-traditional student where, sometimes, the stakes are higher, available free time is less, and the cost of that education can be a barrier. Because of generous donors, Forward Health Foundation is able to offer healthcare career scholarships to employees of Essentia Health – Deer River & Grand Rapids, looking to advance their skills, enhance their knowledge and further their career. We are thankful for the opportunity to give back to our community by helping ease the financial burden of returning to school for our hard-working medical professionals, with those skills remaining here.
“Returning to school, to become an FNP, has been a goal of mine since I was a young girl. I am blessed with the opportunity to expand my career in the nursing field and am thankful for all the love and support I have received along the way from my family, friends, and work family. I am so thankful for the financial support from the Forward Health Foundation as well.” April Buescher, RN, Nurse Clinician, Essentia Health – Grand Rapids
“It was a financial relief to receive the scholarship! I was able to complete courses at a quicker pace and could afford to pay for the courses along the way. This scholarship was very much appreciated!” Amanda Reed, RN/BSN, MBA, Operations Director, Essentia Health – Deer River & Grand Rapids
“As a wife, mother of 3 and full time nurse, it was not an easy decision to go back to school. By continuing my nursing education, it will allow me to maintain a stable job for my family. It will also broaden my education allowing me to better care for my community. Thank you Forward Health Foundation for the scholarship! This really helped with the financial stress that comes with starting school again.” Miranda Schultz, RN, Essentia Health-Deer River
