Outfitted for Winter
Each year, area students and families experience needs related to appropriate outdoor clothing for colder months. Donations are usually adequate for smaller or younger children, but donations for students who wear adult sizes, along with snow pants, boots, hats and mittens remain inadequate for what is needed. In collaboration with Deer River Full Service Community Public School, Forward Health Foundation remains committed to filling these gaps within our community. Your donations made it possible for us to support the initiative to provide these, and other needs, to local students and families.
Sock Hop for Cancer Care
On Friday, September 23, the Deer River Healthcare Volunteers partnered with Forward Health Foundation in hosting a Sock Hop at the Deer River Vet’s Club to raise funds supporting care for local cancer patients. Guests enjoyed burger baskets for sale, raffles and t-shirt sales, a ‘best dressed’ contest and a dance. With volunteers from Essentia Health, the community, and the DRHC Volunteers, many hands made light work with proceeds benefiting our family, friends and neighbors who have been diagnosed with cancer. Established in honor of Jim Tarbell, the Jim Tarbell Cancer Care Fund through Forward Health Foundation provides cancer care
Getting People There
Forward Health Foundation was able to support ElderCircle’s Senior Transportation program by sponsoring and participating in their Aces for Elders golf fundraiser in July. Proceeds from this event benefit clients who require assistance with transportation to medical appointments. Thank you to Foundation board members Beth Anderson and Dave Delawyer for lending your golf expertise!
